DR. PRADEEP KUMAR RAMANCHARLA

Professor & Registrar, IIIT – H.

Dr. Ramancharla Pradeep Kumar worked in L&T-ECC for about a year (1997-98) and went to Tokyo, Japan for pursuing Ph.D. He joined IIIT Hyderabad in September 2002 and started Earthquake Engineering Research Centre (EERC). He was also instrumental in initiating graduate program on Computer Aided Structural Engineering (CASE) at IIIT Hyderabad in 2002 and 5-year Dual Degree program in Building Science & Engineering in 2013. He is leading an active research group of around 35 people. He is presently supervising 12 Ph.D./MS by Research students. Dr. Ramancharla published around 180 papers in journals and conferences. He is a member of few committees at state level and also at national level. He is also a member of expert committees on Disaster Mitigation of Cyclones and Urban Floods. He is currently a BIS panel member of IS 456 & IS 1343 (CED2), Earthquake Engineering Sectional Committee (CED39) and also a member of National Building Code of India (CED 46:P16). He has received a Young Scientist award from ICI, 2011.

PROF. M. R. MADHAV EMERITUS

Professor, JNTU – H.

Prof. M.R.Madhav was the Vice President for Asia, International Society of Soil Mechanics & Geo technical Engineering, and Advisor/Consultant, Energy Infra tech, Navy Mumbai SEZ, Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi. He retired as Professor of Civil Engineering, IIT, Kanpur, after thirty-six years of glorious service. Prof. Madhav also worked at several universities abroad (University of Sydney, Australia; Concordia University, Canada, Saga University, Saga; University of Ghent, Belgium, Queen’s University, Belfast, Kansas State Univ, Manhattan, USA, etc.). He was an Associate at the International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. Prof. Madhav’s research interests span the whole gamut of Geo technical Engineering. Currently he is actively pursuing research of reinforcement sheet – soil interactions and the response of ground to various types of improvement techniques especially for earthquake disaster mitigation. He guided more than 20 doctoral and several master’s theses and final year projects. He co-edited a book entitled ‘LOWLANDS – DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT’ and authored more than 350 publications in refereed international and national journals and conferences. Prof. Madhav’s received a large count of prestigious awards most recently, he was awarded the most prestigious Bharat Ratna M Visweswaraya Award by Government of AP & Institution of Engineers (I) AP State Centre.

MR. PRABHAKAR GUNDLAPALLI

Additional Chief Engineer and Scientific Officer 'H', at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited

Mr Prabhakar Gundlapalli is an Additional Chief Engineer and Scientific Officer ‘H’, at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Mumbai.Presently he is heading three Groups of Scientific Officers, working on Structural and Seismic Analysis and Design, Extreme Loads, Blast and Explosion Loads, Beyond Design Basis Loads, Tsunami Resistant Design of Structures, etc. He is the member of BIS Code committee for Special Structures. He has published many research articles and also guided large number of M.Tech thesis, at IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee.

DR. SIREESH SARIDE

Associate Professor, IIT –Hyderabad

Dr. Sireesh is Associate Professor in Civil Engineering at IIT (Hyderabad). His research interests cover Pavement Geotechnics, Geosynthetic Reinforced Foundations, Foundation Engineering, Sustainable Design of Soil Structures, Soil Stabilization, Soil/Rock Instrumentation, Numerical Modeling of Geosystems and Infrastructure Asset Management. He is presently supervising good count of Ph.D./MS Research students. He has published over 29 refereed journal, 19 Geotechnical Special Publications, 62 conference articles, 11 technical reports and many more under the contribution of research. He is a member of few committees at state level and also at national level. He served as the Co – chair/Chair and Organizing Secretary for many National and International – Workshops and Conferences. He has received a  DST Young Scientist Award, Department of Science and Technology, 2012.
